Doctors advise broadening areas of organ donation/ organ transplantation success on the rise

Position of Kidney

Despite the successful treatment of kidney and liver transplantation in Nepal, due to a lack of people who are willing to donate organs, organs cannot be given to all those who are waiting for organ transplantation, the center said.

 

It was emphasized that the field of organ transplantation should be further expanded during a program organized regarding Organ Donation and Transplant in collaboration with Nepal Press Institute and Shahid Dharmabhakta National Transplantation Center on Friday.

Kidney

As there was a law that only a limited number of people can donate organs, the law has been amended and this area has been broadened. It was arranged that brain-dead people can donate their organs if their relatives are unable to donate.

According to a study conducted by the Nepal Health Research Council in 2017, two-thirds of the total deaths in Nepal are due to non-fatal diseases such as chronic lung disease, diabetes, kidney disease, and cardiovascular disease.

So the Government has to implement the requirement for those who are suffering from kidney and liver disease.
